By-law compliance highlighted in uMlazi

Municipal employees accelerated service delivery in Ward 86 as part of Operation Good Hope.

THE importance of keeping clean areas and adhering to Municipal health and safety regulations was highlighted when Operation Good Hope teams visited uMlazi, Ward 86, recently. Facilitated by the Area-Based Management (ABM) Unit, the operation comprised of a multidisciplinary team including Cleansing and Solid Waste, Metro Police, Business Support, Water and Sanitation, the Fire Department, Health, and Roads and Stormwater who all came together to address service delivery challenges.

During the operations, local shops were visited and notices issued for non-adherence to Municipal by-laws. Shop owners were sensitised about the importance of adhering to Municipal by-laws. UMlazi ABM Coordinator Siphelele Ngcobo extended words of gratitude to the team and urged by-law compliance to shop owners. “It is very encouraging to witness employees conducting their work in high spirits. I urge shop owners to abide by the Municipal health and safety regulations. Keeping a hygienic environment must be a priority,” said Ngcobo.
