Excitement as Ntuzuma families receive keys to new homes

There was jubilation when families received the keys to their homes from Ward 42 Councillor Fisokuhle Mngadi.

DILAPIDATED walls and leaking roofs are now a distant memory for Ntuzuma residents who received new houses. Cheers of joy filled the air as Ward Councillor Fisokuhle Mngadi handed over the keys to four beneficiaries. The houses were built under the R293 Housing Project which aims to rectify old subsidy houses built pre1994. Councillor Mngadi congratulated the beneficiaries during the house handover. “I am happy that we managed to change the lives of four families living in the ward.

The demand for housing is great, and more budget needs to be allocated to meet this demand. The project has been going smoothly in the ward,” said Councillor Mngadi. Beneficiary Sipho Khumalo was happy to receive a house. He said the living conditions of his old house was very bad, especially for his wheelchair-bound wife to try navigate. “Our lives have changed for the better. This house is beautiful.

We now need an access road which we hope government will build for us,” he said. Another beneficiary, Thoko Mthembu Ngcongo was elated to receive a house. “Today history has made. I have been living here since 1980 and my house was very old. I would like to thank Councillor Fisokuhle Mngadi and eThekwini Municipality, may God may bless you all,” he said. “My family has a place to call home.
