The Gospel Icon Discovery (GID) talent search competition is back. Aspiring gospel singers are encouraged to attend auditions taking place from 26 March to 23 April at various venues around the City. The GID, which is in its 10th year, aims to cultivate and discover emerging gospel talent while creating employment opportunities for local artists.

Talented youth who enter this competition stand the chance of winning prize money, a recording deal, and an opportunity to be mentored by established artists in the gospel music industry.

Aspirant singers can make their way to auditions scheduled as follows:

 Bester Community Hall | 01 April 
 OThongathi Community Hall | 02 April 
 Magaba Community Hall, Hammarsdale | 15 April 
 UMlazi W Hall | 22 April 
 Theatre Stable | 23 April

The competition is strictly for solo acts and entrants should be aged between 16 and 35. Candidates are urged to bring their ID or birth certificates along when auditioning. Registration is from 7am to 9am.
