THE R293 Housing Project being implemented in Ward 91 will change the lives of residents. The ward is under the leadership of Councillor Malulu Sikhakhane. The phased housing project is part of the City’s efforts to renovate and revamp dilapidated houses of the previously disadvantaged.
Housing recipient Sinethemba Mthethwa, 22, was grateful for the assistance from the Municipality. “I want to thank Councilor Sikhakhane and the ward leadership as I know this wasn’t an individual effort. The City’s leadership is really doing its best to change our lives for the better,” said Mthethwa. Councillor Sikhakhane said the project will be ongoing in the ward. “We work very hard as the leadership of Ward 91 to ensure service delivery. To ensure successful ward leadership, unity is key.
We have worked well with leaders from other wards and will continue doing so for the betterment of our people,” he added. He said their next project will be working with law enforcement to combat crime.
