Keeping the beach clean by disposing of waste correctly
Residents and visitors are requested to dispose of waste correctly by using the street litter bins strategically placed along the beachfront.
THE City welcomes the thousands of visitors who will flock to Durban over the festive season. However, the scores of visitors to the beachfront who don’t dispose of their waste correctly remains problematic. To tackle the issue of the increase of litter on the beaches, the City requests residents and visitors to dispose of their waste properly by using the street litter bins provided.
Bins have been strategically placed along the beachfront to make it easier for beachgoers to dispose of their litter responsibly. By not disposing of waste correctly, this contributes to the volume of waste that ends up in rivers, streams, and oceans. To be part of the solution, the following can be done:
Be responsible for disposing of waste correctly by using the street litter bins that have been strategically placed.
Taking out your refuse only on scheduled collection days.
Avoiding littering and illegal dumping.
The City request residents, businesses, and visitors to take a bold stand against littering and to dispose of it in the correct way. Keeping the City clean requires a collective responsibility.
