The repairs of a road in the Gogovuma area, Inanda is bearing fruit and will be completed soon said Thokozane Zulu, who is involved in the project.
A MAIN road in the Gogovuma area, Inanda in Ward 108 is progressing well and is expected to be completed by June. The road was severely damaged during the floods. Work to repair the damaged road started but was interrupted. However, work has started again and is progressing well. Gabions have been installed on both sides of the stream to prevent soil erosion.
Clerk of Works for the project Thokozane Zulu applauded the team spirit of teams working on the project. “We are happy with how the project is progressing. We have the budget to complete the work. Residents are also pleased with the progress of the project and have shown such patience. There have been no strikes or work stoppages, and as a result I am confident that we would have completed the project by June,” said Zulu.
Resident Londiwe Mfeka welcomed the project saying: “We are very happy that the project has commenced. Residents have been suffering as we have been unable to use this route. We thank eThekwini Municipality for repairing this road.” The project value is R7 million.
