Streetlights in Pinetown are being repaired as part of Operation Good Hope.

WORKING together, the Electricity Department and Area Based Management (ABM) Unit have been hard at work repairing streetlights in Pinetown under the banner of Operation Good Hope. ABM Project Manager Siphokuhle Biyela said the implementation of the service delivery programme aimed to address challenges in the community. The project was undertaken on Moodie Street and Kings Road in the Pinetown CBD.

Resident Mandla Xulu thanked the City for fixing the streetlights. “As Pinetown residents, we are delighted that our community is bright and well-lit at night. This will help to curb crime as criminals cannot lurk in the dark,” he said. Progress of the project is being monitored through stakeholder engagements in partnership with Pinetown businesses.
