Twenty-minute vehicle recovery applauded

Metro Police have been applauded for their increasing vehicle recovery rate throughout the City.

THE swift response by Metro Police to recover a hijacked vehicle in Chatsworth has been applauded by Metro Police Head Commissioner Sibonelo Mchunu. The vehicle was reportedly hijacked by five unidentified males. “Our highway patrollers received information on a hijacked white Renault Duster in Chatsworth by a group of five males. Our prompt investigation determined the whereabouts of the vehicle, which was en route to uMlazi,” said Mchunu. In just 20 minutes, working with a nearby Metro Police division, the vehicle was recovered in uMlazi F-Section. “Our vehicle recovery rate is peaking at an all-time high.

We have informed our troops from every division to be on high alert of any criminal operations. We are working towards bringing the City back to its glory days,” Mchunu added.  The vehicle will be processed at the Chatsworth Police Station. In another vehicle recovery operation, the Metro Police recovered a brand-new white Isuzu bakkie which was stolen from the dealership. Metro Police Spokesperson Colonel Boysie Zungu confirmed the recovery. Zungu said:  “A white Isuzu bakkie was stolen from a dealership in New Germany and later recovered in uMlazi B Section.” Further investigations on both cases are ongoing and no arrests have been made.
